John's Day

Last Saturday Corey, Ethan and I spent the afternoon and evening with our nephew John. His 9th birthday was a few weeks ago and we were unable to celebrate with him so we celebrated this last weekend. John loves board games so we borrowed a few and had an evening of games, pizza and dairy queen. It was a nice evening and we think John enjoyed himself. Happy Belated Birthday John!

Pool Party Fun...Maybe

Well at least for some kids as Ethan would not go in the kiddie pool even though the three days prior we spent in my Moms pool. We still had a great morning hanging out and enjoying Luke's outdoor toys. Thanks S for cooking lunch and having us over!

Future Piano Player???

We enjoyed a busy beautiful fathers day on Sunday. Happy Belated Fathers Day to all you Dad's out there! We went to church and then headed to Corey's parents house. Mom Barnes fixed a fabulous Sunday dinner and we enjoyed spending some time watching all the kids play very well with each other. The only pictures I have of the afternoon are these of Ethan loving the piano. He was very gently actually playing with his fingers and not banging on the keys. He absolutely loved it!

Little Man

Ethan has had these sunglasses for a few months but just this last weekend kept them on. I think he saw his Dad with his and had to be just like him:) At first he was not too sure but realized what a great new "toy" he had and loved taking them on and off! He was too cute not to share these pics!

Strawberry Pickin'

Last Friday my two older sisters and I headed to the strawberry patch. It was a beautiful morning and the kids were ready to help. Tyler, Colson and Anna picked almost a whole basket on their own! Tyler helped keep Ethan and Daniel inside our row towards the end. The little ones were great and helped pick and eat a few also. Our fresh strawberries are very juicy and delicious!

Long or Short?

Isn't it so amazing how some weeks seem to fly by and others seem to last forever. Well this last week has been both? Some days seem to take forever to get accomplished and other days seem to end to quickly. To sum up last Thursday morning Corey had his knee surgery. It went well and they were able to repair/remove everything that needed to be. They ended up removing his meniscus due to the severity of the tear. He was pretty out of it Thursday and Friday morning. He had a block done prior to surgery which did not wear off until Friday which he was thankful for. He was pretty much on the couch the entire weekend and headed off to work on Monday morning. Corey is such a great Dad and so helpful with Ethan giving baths and putting to bed most nights until now. It has been challenging to me to go from morning to night with no help. I am so thankful that I have Corey and that Ethan has two parents. It is short lived for me but I know for some it is not which makes me even more grateful. So to say the least I will be glad when he can move around better. He is working his knee with a range of motion machine and also has a brace attached to a cooler to help with pain/swelling. If you remember to please pray for a quick and healthy recovery for him. I was kicking myself on the day of surgery because I had forgotten my camera, I think Corey was happy I did too.
This past week we also had a doctors appointment that went well. The babies heart beat was 145 and measuring right on for 24 weeks. Its hard to believe that its the middle of June! I have the babies room cleaned out, now just need to decorate!
Not much else new in the Barnes household-hope everyone's summer is off to a great start!!!

Saturday Soccer

Saturday morning Ethan and I headed over to my nephews soccer game. They only have two games left of the season so I am so glad that I made it to this one. It was a beautiful morning and he scored a goal!! Ethan loved watching and playing with cousin Colson. What a fun morning!

Our little worker

Ethan had a blast helping Corey water the flowers this weekend. He loved moving the hose all around to see the water move with it. He loved touching the water and I was surprised he did not try drinking from the hose. He loves the bath water:) The fun ended after he got his Dad all wet! He was too cute!
